"I am an artist based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. When I was younger I primarily worked with oil paints, focusing on realistic portraiture but more recently I have been creating more graphic/illustrative paintings. I primarily portray women in my work. Lately I’ve been creating imagery that celebrates the female form. I take a lot of inspiration from women in unusual positions. I think it creates a more interesting image than standard life class poses do. I’m drawn to imagery of women pole dancing or women contorted and bound by rope. I love the detail and texture in the skin when it’s pulled and restrained. I like finding the obscure beauty in conventionally beautiful subjects!"
