"I'm Maya Leaning, a 19 year old student from the North West studying Media, Communication and Cultural Studies at Newcastle University. I started making art on and off from a very young age thanks to my dad who is also an artist in his spare time. He also influenced my obsession with music and so after thinking of ways to combine these two passions, I created my Instagram account, @artistreleases, where I create art based on new music releases."

"The art I create is very much down to what inspires me in the song. I try and keep things interesting by attempting different styles as I am still starting out, however I often lean towards more graphic designs inspired by street art, album covers and posters for raves/gigs etc. I also enjoy the element of discovering new musicians who are also trying to pave their way in the creative industry."
